Crypto.com is one of both the earliest and largest platforms operating, currently serving over 10 million users worldwide. Despite this, they have never suffered from a security breach or hack since founding, with a claimed "100%" of funds kept in cold storage. They also have one of the best insurance policies in the industry, covered for up to $360M. As a result, we felt that our funds were very secure. At its base level, Crypto.com offers below average rates of 4.5% APY on ETH/BTC when compared to competitors. However, their 10% APY for stablecoins is good, matching or exceeding many platforms. This platform supports 35 assets, including 3 cryptocurrencies, 8 stablecoins and 24 altcoins to deposit and earn interest on; more than many competitors. Users will earn non-compounding interest on their deposited assets, accrued daily/paid weekly. Users can also easily access their accounts via PC, iOS & Android.
All deposits come with flexible, 1 month & 3 month lock-in terms, each with varying rates. The latter, 3-month term offers the highest APY bonus of 4%. This platform heavily encourages users to pick either the 1 or 3 month period, as interest rates for flexible options are significantly below industry standard. Withdrawal fees range between 0.1-0.5% depending on currency, although deposits are free.
This platform also allows users to stake their native CRO token (Crypto.com Coin) for increased interest rates. Those staking 4000 CRO or more will receive an extra 2% interest, for a maximum APY of 5.5% on ETH, 6.5% on BTC and 12% on stablecoins; provided users agree to a 3 month term for the best rates. Although quite a big difference, those who stake at least 40,000 CRO will receive an additional 2% bonus. This equates to an extra 4% in total, resulting in a very competitive APY of 7.5% on ETH, 8.5% on BTC and 14% for stablecoins.
In comparison to competitors, the staking requirement is much lower for users of this platform, due to the price of this token. Whilst Crypto.com doesn't seem worth it for non-stakers, their requirements remain quite reasonable. Their selection of 35 supported assets gives users much more freedom over their options.
