Swipe Slate Black Review
The Slate Black card by Swipe.io has some of the best cashback and perks available for a crypto debit card in 2021, including rebates on Airbnb, Netflix, Spotify, Prime, Starbucks, Hulu, Apple Music, Uber and Travalla. The Slate Black cardholders benefit from 8% cashback paid in Bitcoin on all purchases either online or offline and practically fee-free spending. The card is widely available for the US and Europe residents and hopefully, Canada, Australia and Singapore soon.
The Slate Black card by Swipe.io is the highest tier card on offer. Visa cards are delivered to your door for free, have no signup fee or monthly subscriptions, and currently support 8 cryptocurrencies and 5 fiat currencies. In order to apply for a Slate visa, you will need to stake 100,000 SXP (Swipes native token) which is roughly $100,000 at today's prices. If you plan on using this card for a large number of purchases then the high 8% cashback paid in Bitcoin (plus perks!) is a highly attractive offer.
Swipe.io began in 2018 in the Philippines and less than 2 years later was bought by Binance in 2020. Today their head office is located in London, England. Swipe.io as a company shows promise, with names like Coinbase Custody, BitGo and Certik behind them. The drawback for us is their support, which has been a huge letdown and frankly a huge concern for us. We hope in the coming months they improve their support, as te rest of their offering, cashback, and perks, are undoubtedly some of the most attractive on the market in 2021.

- Terrible support which can't offer answers to basic questions, and no means to escalate issues higher.
- High stakes to get the perks and cashback (almost $100,000 in SXP tokens) which need to be held for a minimum of 6 months.
- 3% foreign transaction fee for US cardholders.
- Virtual cards are not currently available in Europe.
